Bow Hunting Forum / Re: Found shed
« on: March 09, 2021, 02:59:30 PM »
I found one today! It was only about an 8 inch spike but what I'm excited about is that I found one for the first time when I was actually looking for sheds. This is only the second fresh brown shed I found. All others were white.

Camp Fire / Lyme Disease Vaccine

I guess I'll pass on this one as well. Don't think I would like to go in every year for a shot. Plus as many thousands of tick bites as I've had I probably already have it anyway.

Nice one. Most of the time by the time I stumble across them they are squirrel chewed and white. I still get a kick out of finding a dead head. I think I've found more than I've killed.

Lost a couple of bantams and some of my bigger roosters will lose their combs but everything else seems to be okay. Heard of some folks losing cows falling through ice on a pond.

Watched a documentary called the frozen chosen about spearing giant lake sturgeon. It looked like a lot of fun. I think I'd like to try ice fishing and spearing. At least once anyway.

I was watching some garden show and they claimed that deer hated the smell of irish spring and hung up some bars to keep deer away from his garden. I don't know how true but I thought I might hang some up along a certain area the night before gun opener. Might even hang a wind chime.

Dang hate to hear that. I had a line hunter move in on me this year. Not sure if he killed anything or not but he was a persistent sob. He was there pretty much every day of gun season.  He did move back about 20 yards after I almost walked right under him on my way out of the woods. The woods road on our property is along the west line.  But yea he was set up looking right over our property.  I know it wasn't actual neighbor but someone he was letting hunt. I noticed truck with small trailer parked at his place.  He ain't been back since regular gun went out.

Just had trail camera stolen last week. Pretty sure they came from the other side of property. Several new people have moved in the past year or so down that way.

Camp Fire / Re: Surgery

Best wishes for a fast recovery. I think I'm starting to get a little carpel trouble. My dad and older brother both had surgery for it so I figure my time is coming.

I'm right handed but always use my left for the dirty business. Just thought I'd put that out there in case anyone ever wanted to hake my hand.

I pulled cards today and there was a decent buck right about where this one was standing at around 7 this morning and then again at 8. If they are going to start coming out in day time again I may take another try at them.
